In short: AirSplit never records your audio or sends it outside your network. It uses no cookies and no ads, and we don't sell data. We only keep the minimum needed for the trial and your license to work.
1. Who we are
Codi10, Carrer de Moragues, 10. Contact: hello@airsplit.app.
2. What we process and why
2.1 Your audio
AirSplit captures the audio of the app you choose on your Mac and sends it over AirPlay to speakers on your local network. Audio never reaches our servers and is never recorded or stored. Speaker discovery (Bonjour) also happens only on your local network.
2.2 Free trial
To give each Mac a single free trial, the app sends our server an anonymous device ID: a cryptographic hash (SHA-256) of your Mac's hardware identifier. It can't be turned back into the real identifier or into who you are. We store that ID and the trial start date. We do not store your IP address.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the free trial (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
2.3 AirSplit Pro license
When you buy, we generate your license key and store: the key encrypted (so we can show it to you or resend it) and a hash (SHA-256) to look it up, the buyer's name, email and language as provided by Stripe, the purchase IDs in Stripe and its status (active, refunded…). When you activate the license on a Mac we also store an activation ID, the anonymous device ID and the date. The app re-checks the license with our server about every 7 days.
When available, we email you the key from our own mail server.
Purpose and legal basis: providing the service you bought, limiting the license to 3 Macs and detecting refunded or disabled licenses (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, performance of a contract).
2.4 Purchases and payments
Purchases are handled by Stripe through its Managed Payments service, where Stripe is the merchant of record: it charges you, issues your receipt and handles taxes, fraud and refunds. We never see or store your card details. Stripe processes your payment data as an independent controller under its privacy policy.
2.5 App updates
AirSplit periodically checks for new versions by downloading a file from airsplit.app. The request includes your AirSplit and macOS versions in the standard technical header (User-Agent). We don't send system profiles or usage data.
2.6 This website
This website uses no cookies and no analytics or advertising tools. If you dismiss the language suggestion, that choice is saved only in your browser (local storage), not on our servers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when serving them.
2.7 Server logs
Like any web server, ours temporarily logs the IP address, date, requested page and browser of each request, for security and troubleshooting. These logs rotate automatically and are overwritten within a few days. The license server also keeps your IP in memory for 60 seconds to rate-limit requests.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the service secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
3. How long we keep data
- Trial: for as long as the service exists, so the trial can't be repeated. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
- License: while the license is active, and afterwards for as long as legal obligations require.
- Server logs: a few days (automatic rotation).
4. Who we share it with
- Soluciones Corporativas IP, SL hosts our server, as a data processor.
- Stripe handles purchases, payments and refunds. Where your data is transferred to the USA, the transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
We don't sell or give your data to anyone else, and we don't use it for advertising or automated decision-making.
5. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its processing, or request a copy in a portable format. Email us at hello@airsplit.app. To find your data we only need your purchase email or, for the trial, an ID we'll tell you how to get. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).
6. Changes
If we change this policy we'll publish the new version on this page with its date. If the change is significant, we'll also let you know in the app.
